Appalachia Help Weeks
During the summer, youth, college students and adults travel to Preston County, WV to participate in the Catholic Church of Preston County Home Repair Project. Originating in 1986 as a flood relief effort, Saint Patrick’s Youth Ministry has collaborated with this group since it’s inception. The parish sponsors 2 trips per year in July. Homes are repaired and relationships are built as we share our gifts of labor and real presence with those living with the unfortunate circumstances of poverty. Any confirmed teen who has completed their sophomore year or older is welcome. Adult chaperones and workers are always needed. This project is funded through donations and fundraising efforts held throughout the year.
