From the Desk of our Pastor, Fr. Bob -
It has been a difficult 10 weeks for most of us in distancing ourselves from places and people that mean so much to us. The Diocese of Paterson has forwarded protocols for the reopening of churches for public liturgical celebrations. There will be changes in the manner that people come to liturgy, celebrate liturgy, and exit from the church. These guidelines include entering/exiting the church, seating, number of parishioners at Mass, facial coverings, music, reception of the Eucharist, celebrations of baptism, funerals, memorial Masses, and weddings. Once these changes occur, we will continue to livestream a liturgy over the weekend for those not able to attend.
St. Patrick Parish is working closely together, clergy, staff, and volunteers in order to implement these guidelines and to provide, as much as it is humanly possible, a safe environment proper for Liturgy during this pandemic. These guidelines are not suggestions. They are, for the meantime, particular law of the Diocese of Paterson. Therefore, these matters require adherence by all parishes and religious communities where the sacred liturgy is celebrated.
