Dear First Communion Families,
As you know, St. Patrick Parish had planned to celebrate First Communions last Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, and this Saturday, May 9. 59 children in our parish have been preparing for the last several months to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, First Communions have been deferred indefinitely, like so many other celebrations in our lives.
I’m so sorry that we can’t be together, celebrating this special milestone in your life. I want you to know that Father Bob, Father Artur and I are thinking about you. Even though we have not received any word from the Diocese about when we will be able to reschedule the First Communion masses, please don’t lose hope! As soon as we can, we will begin planning for your special day. I will be in touch with any news as soon as I receive it.
Please be assured that your First Communion will be special and memorable, no matter what restrictions may be in place. And don’t worry if you have forgotten some of what you learned about receiving the Eucharist. I think that we all may need a little refresher on what to do!
I am looking forward to when we can be together. Until then, stay safe and healthy! And be sure to watch the livestreaming of the weekend masses on our parish website,
www.st-pats.org. (Saturday at 5pm and Sunday morning at 10am) See you at mass!
Sincerely,
Karen Hoerrner
