The Boys Choir Visits the Seminary at Seton Hall University.
Congratulations to our Boys Choir which visited the Seminary at Seton Hall on Thursday, January 26, 2017. The boys attended Evening Prayer where they had the opportunity to hear 43 seminarians and priests sing the music and chants for the service. After the prayer service, the Boys Choir performed for the seminariansl. The young men studying for the priesthood took much delight in hearing the boys! They claim it is the high point of their week. The boys also had a chance to sing with the seminary choir when the combined group sant "Blest Are They" complete with harmony and a descant sung by the boys. The boys enjoyed attending dinner with the seminarians and were led on a tour of the chapels at Seton Hall and the seminary.
Choirs and Instruments at St. Patrick Church
St. Patrick Church has vocal groups for adults and for young people in grades K-12. All rehearsals are guided by prayer and positive feedback. Instrumentalists join the vocal rehearsals for the Saturday and Sunday 5:00 pm masses. Instrumentalists for the 9:00 am and 11:00 am masses have rehearsals scheduled as needed.
Morning Song Children's Choir
Grades K-3. This is the youngest choir. The focus is on fun and learning the basics of singing and how to be vocal musicians at mass. The group sings occasionally for the 9:00 am mass, performs the Living Nativity on Christmas Eve with costumes, and sings for First Communion masses. Music reading, games, vocal skills, movement, and prayer are all a regular part of rehearsals.

St. Patrick Boys Choir
Grades 3-8. This group sings a range of boyish-style music from energetic contemporary to Gregorian chant. Intermediate vocal skills, harmony, and music-reading are taught. The boys sing every other week at the 9:00 am mass September through May and for Confirmations and First Communions. Adult male singers sometimes visit to encourage the boys. A great opportunity to be part of a team, build confidence, and to volunteer for solos and descants for those who desire.

St. Patrick Girls Choir
Grades 3-8. This group for girls-only sings a range of music from lively contemporary to traditional and classic. Intermediate vocal skills, harmony, and music-reading are taught. The girls sing every other week at the 9:00 am mass September-May and for Confirmations and First Communions. A great opportunity to discover individual expression, sing as a team, and volunteer for solos and descants for those who desire.
Rehearsals Wednesdays 6:15-7:15 pm
God Unplugged Teen Choir
Grades 8-12 and young adults. This vocal/instrumental group sings for the Sunday 5:00 pm mass. It is catered to the skills of the members, and sings lively contemporary, traditional music, and a cappella music. Members have the opportunity to expand on skills they have developed. Harmony, solos, improvisation, and musical/personal/faith development are encouraged. Young adults who ar advanced in music also have the opportunity to conduct, accompany, and hsare their iedeas. This is faith-in-action! All vocal styles and instruments are welcome.

St. Patrick Adult Choir
Soprano/alto/tenor/bass adults and high school. this choir family of approximately twenty-four members sings for the 11:00 am liturgy, the annual Advent Christmas concert in conjunction with the choir of Christ the King, and special celebrations. The group sings a wide variety of styles including classic, contemporary, and traditional. Previous choral or musical experience is useful. Music reading ability is helpful but not required.

Saturday Sound Ensemble
Adults and families. this casual group of singers, guitarists, and instrumentalists provides music for the 5:00 pm Saturday liturgy. Commitment and skill levels are less demanding than the St. Patrick Choir.
Rehearsals Saturdays 4:00-5:00 pm
Instrumentalists, free-lance-all ages who are capable of playing church music. Instrumentalist rehearsals are scheduled according to need. Instruments are needed for Saturday 5:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 5:00 pm masses.
