Saint Patrick Parish Community, nurtured by the Eucharist and the Word of God, recognize our responsibility to be a welcoming community. We acknowledges our mission to:
- pass on our Catholic traditions;
- strengthen the spiritual life of all parishioners;
- serve those in need;
- give witness to the Gospel;
- reach out to those who are searching for a community of faith.
We are proud to offer our series of reflections on our parish mission statement, a continuing parish focus. These reflections, written by different staff members, highlight one area of the mission statement so that we can understand its relationship to our Gospel life here in St. Patrick's Parish. These were developed during the 2002-2003 liturgical year, and were highlighted on the front page of our bulletin. We ended the celebration of our mission statement with a recommitment ritual at each liturgy on Pentecost Sunday 2003.
The logo at the left represents our parish community, moving forward, having been nurtured by the Eucharist and God’s Word, to become witnesses to the Gospel. We move with the cross of Jesus Christ, to become his light in our world. As a parish community we are many different people – ages, backgrounds, family origins, even shapes and sizes! – drawn together to become who God has called us to be in this time, in this place. Together we respond to the challenges of our parish’s mission.
We invite you to continue this process by participating in our winter mission workshops. In 2004 these will highlight nurtured by the Eucharist and the Word of God, and they scheduled for January 17th, February 28th, and March 31st.
